    Video Archive Explorer is a private, local-first video archive browser that turns any folder of video files into a searchable, chapter-tagged archive. Nothing is uploaded: indexing, thumbnail generation, chapter tagging and playback all happen inside your browser.

    The same player controls on every surface

    One player controller mounts an identical control set on every video in the app — main stage, mobile sticky player, multi-view slots, the fullscreen wall, the floating mini-player, stories and embedded widgets. Smaller surfaces move less-used buttons into an overflow menu rather than removing them, so transport, chapter navigation, seeking, volume, crop, rotation, screenshots and posters are always within reach.

    Chapter tagging across an entire archive

    Mark a moment inside any video, give it a label and tags, and that chapter tag becomes a filter in the left panel next to your other taxonomies. Click it to build a Chapter Reel that plays the same tagged moment across every video that has it, or send every multi-view slot to its matching chapter at once.

    Do all player controls appear on every video?

    Yes. A single controller mounts the same control set everywhere; small surfaces collapse extras into an overflow menu instead of dropping them.

    Can I see my position while scrubbing a thumbnail?

    Yes — hovering a card shows a bottom overlay with a progress bar, chapter pips and a timecode readout.

    What is a chapter tag?

    A named point in time inside a video, carrying its own tags. Chapter tags are shared across the archive so one click plays that moment in every video that has it.

    Do my tags survive renaming?

    Yes. Identity is a content fingerprint, not the filename.

    Is it accessible?

    The interface targets WCAG 2.2 level AA throughout.
