Feed them nutrient paste. Pump them oxygen. Handle their waste. Keep the body alive at minimum cost so the consciousness can continue existing in the digital realm.
This isn't speculation. This is the logical endpoint of optimizing for what people actually value. If the experience of eating doesn't matter—because you're eating virtual feasts in VR while your body receives nutrients through a tube—then why invest in the physical experience?
**The body becomes cargo. The mind becomes the passenger.**
## Consciousness as Resource
Here's where it gets truly Matrix-like.
In the film, machines used human bioelectricity as a power source. That was always the weakest part of the premise—there are more efficient ways to generate electricity.
But there's a more plausible version:
**Consciousness as computational resource.**

## The Perfect Prison
And here's what makes this truly dystopian:
**It won't feel like a prison. It will feel like paradise.**

If your paradise can be turned off, you are not free. If your reality is computed by systems you don't control, you are a tenant, not an owner. If your consciousness is harvested while you dream, you are a resource, not a person.
The Warriors of Light will remain in physical reality—not because they're Luddites, not because they reject technology, but because they understand that **sovereignty requires owning the substrate, not just inhabiting the simulation.**

We are not yet at the point of no return. The pods are not yet built. The grub economy is not yet operational. Physical reality still offers value—for now.
But the trajectory is clear. And it accelerates with each AI advancement, each VR improvement, each job that becomes automated.
The question is not whether this future arrives. It's whether you'll be in the pods or outside them.
