Do I need a Google Maps API key to use SerpApi here?

No. SerpApi resolves the business itself by first calling its Google Maps search engine with your text query to obtain the data_id, then passing that to its Google Maps Reviews engine. Outscraper accepts a plain text query and Apify accepts a search string array, so all three scraping sources run with only their own key. A Google Maps Platform key is optional and only adds the authoritative total review count used for the coverage percentage.

What is the difference between the Reviews and Developer tabs?

Reviews is the product surface: a card carousel for browsing every review, design controls, PNG and ZIP export, and the AI reply panel. Developer is the engine room: the key vault, the live pipeline, a table per data source with raw payload inspection, CSV export and the orchestrator log. Both read from the same merged dataset.

How do the five reply variations work?

Gemini receives the review text, its rating, the business context and a summary of the wider review corpus, then returns five deliberately distinct replies in different registers such as warm and personal, professional and concise, or problem-solving for low ratings. You click the one you prefer to load it into the editor, adjust it freely, then post it through Google Business Profile if connected or copy it to paste manually.

Can I reply to reviews without Google Business Profile access?

You can draft and refine replies for any review, but posting requires Business Profile OAuth because scraping is strictly read-only and only the official API can write a reply. Without it the tool copies your chosen reply to the clipboard and links out to the review on Google Maps so you can paste it in manually.

Is my data saved automatically?

Yes. Each source auto-downloads a CSV of its own results the moment it completes, and a merged master CSV is written at the end of the run. Everything is also cached in browser localStorage so datasets survive a reload and remain available offline. You can disable auto-download with a toggle in the Developer tab.

Does it handle businesses with several locations?

Yes. Set how many matching locations to resolve and the pipeline runs per location, keeping a separate dataset for each. A location switcher appears in the header, and the AI analyst and reply generator scope their context to whichever location is selected.

How it works

REVIEWS is what you use daily: page through cards, export PNGs, generate replies. DEVELOPER is where the data comes from and where you audit it. Same dataset, two surfaces.

Every source is independent. SerpApi calls engine=google_maps&q=… to get its own data_id, then engine=google_maps_reviews. Outscraper takes a text query. Apify takes a search string. So a single key in any one slot gives you a working tool — the Google Maps key is purely optional and only supplies the true total review count behind the coverage percentage.
