What will make more sense

  • Trace a lookup from a named request through returned information to an accurate summary.
  • A lookup and summary do not imply an update or message delivery.
  • An identifiable reference helps review the source match.

One idea to keep

Trace a lookup from a named request through returned information to an accurate summary.

The short lesson

Read the explanation at your pace

A first connected workflow should be small enough that you can tell what happened. A read-only lookup is a useful example: the assistant requests an identified record and explains the returned information without changing it. You still care about source and privacy, but the intended effect is easier to recognize than a multi-step update across several services.

The prepared lookup-receipt.md contains Willow Catering's fictional result for booking WC-104. It names the practice source, records the returned date and guest count and preserves the unresolved dietary question. The accompanying summary uses those details rather than claiming to know more. In the browser sequence, this is a teaching receipt, not evidence of a real service request.

Follow the route in order. The owner asks for a summary. The assistant uses an available read capability for the identified booking. The tool returns a record. The assistant explains that record in ordinary language and names what remains uncertain. A missing step would change what could honestly be claimed. For example, a draft of a lookup request is not the same as a returned booking.

When using a real connection, verify enough of the record to know it is the right one. A booking reference and date can be more reliable than a name alone. Ask the assistant to state the source used, particularly when several accounts or downloaded files are available. The information can then support the business decision it was requested for.

Read-only access does not make the data public. The record may still contain customer information. Use only what the task needs and follow the business's arrangements for connected processing. Our practice record is fictional and deliberately limited. You can learn the review pattern without importing a real customer list or exposing private booking notes.

Choose the activity statement that accurately describes the lookup. It returned information and produced a summary; it did not reschedule the event or contact the customer. Optional practice stays inside the downloaded sample. Your goal is to recognize a complete, bounded information flow and to connect the assistant's explanation to a source you can identify. A readable summary should remain traceable to those specific details.

Choose the next small step

Follow the prepared example, then select a response to see why it fits. Nothing is connected or changed.

This is a local learning example with prepared responses. It does not run VS Code or contact an AI service.

STEP 1Request one identified practice booking
STEP 2Read the returned example record
STEP 3Explain facts and unresolved details without changing them

A read-only lookup returned a booking summary. What happened?

A prompt you can keep

These are example words to copy into your own AI chat when you want to try them. Copying does not send a request.

Read the prepared example for this lesson. Explain the proposed action, its target and the expected result. Keep this as an explanation; do not change files or connect accounts.

A tiny next step, if you want one

Optional: try 2 small actions at your own pace

You can finish this lesson by exploring the example above. These real-app actions are optional, and there is nothing to submit.

  1. Optional: compare booking-example.md with lookup-receipt.md.
  2. Optional: ask your assistant to explain the prepared receipt without making a network request.

Try a short question

Choose an answer to see why it fits. You can try again or explore every explanation.

A read-only lookup returned a booking summary. What happened?

Why include the booking reference in the result?
