- Ask for clearer language without changing the intended meaning.
- Notice a fact added from a named source.
One idea to keep
Improve the sentence while keeping the business meaning intact.
The short lesson
Read the explanation at your pace
One useful assistant task is making a paragraph easier to understand. That does not require changing the underlying facts. You can ask for everyday language, shorter sentences or a clearer order. The business owner sets the intended meaning, and the assistant proposes a way to express it. Review whether the new version still says the same thing before accepting the improvement.
The prepared message-before.md reads: We would like to advise that interested individuals may attend the forthcoming introductory welcome session commencing at 4:00 p.m., subject to capacity and subsequent confirmation. It contains a useful idea, but the reader has to work to find it. The assistant can make that idea friendlier without promising a place to everyone who asks.
The proposed message-after.md says: Join Willow Workshop for a friendly introductory welcome session at 4:00 p.m. There are eight places; request a booking and our staff will confirm availability. This is not a direct word-for-word simplification of the sentence alone: the eight-place detail comes from current-facts.md. That source should be named so the extra detail is traceable.
A useful request says what should change and what should stay. For example: make the wording friendlier for first-time visitors, use only current-facts.md for details and keep staff confirmation explicit. The assistant now has a writing goal and a factual boundary. You do not need to dictate every word, but you can judge the result against those requirements. That keeps the review focused.
If the proposed wording removes the condition or adds a new claim, ask for a narrow correction. You can say keep the friendlier opening, but restore the staff confirmation rule. That response is more useful than starting over with make it better again. It tells the assistant which part worked and which part failed the business requirement.
Use the browser comparison to read both versions. Then choose the requirement the rewrite must preserve. You are not grading grammar terminology or writing a perfect advertisement. You are learning to direct a clear sentence and protect its meaning. This same skill applies when the assistant rewrites a policy explanation, a product description or a short internal note.
